Project 12 May - Doodlebug

Photobucket

I have an issue.  Sometimes, I won't use the scrapbook products I buy because I find them simply too beautiful, or too cute, to cut.  This is usually the case when I purchase anything from Doodlebug.   So, the other night, I MADE myself dig into some of last year's product.  It can't sit on my paper shelves any longer!  I must use so that I have no guilt when I buy more, newer Doodlebug product!!

This is my Project 12 layout for May.  The photos are all  "outdoor" shots so I incorporated some "nature" paper and embellishments.

Caution! Cute Bryn Ahead!!

There's my oldest sweetie, enjoying a purple popsicle on the first day of summer.  I want to remember this precious little moment with my almost-first-grader.  Wow.  Where did my baby go?

Made this layout for a challenge at "My Mind's Eye."   Here is the sketch:

Afton's Big Brown Eyes

Just a quick post today. I am too tired to blather on too much!!

Here is the sketch for Imaginisce's monthly sketch challenge:

Photobucket

I kind of spun it around, and used punched circles instead of squares.

Photobucket

My felt flowers are from Fancy Pants, and the papers are all Imaginisce. The lace is vintage, given to me by my hubby's grandmother.

Sketchy Thursdays Monthly Design Team Call

I have been playing along a lot recently with the girls over at the "Sketchy Thursdays" blog. I have been a weekly "fave" a few times and decided this month I would actually try to become a monthly design team member. You see, each month they create a specific sketch that one can try, submit and be voted on.

A girl can hope, right??

Here's this month's sketch:

Photobucket

I used a cute picture of all three of my darlings in the tub. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's the sweetest thing!

A Card for Dad and a LRW Sketch

It's sketch time over at Little Red Wagon. I took the opportunity to get my Father's Day card done for my sweet Daddy. Here is the sketch:

And my father's card:

I used some older Doodlebug papers, stickers and sentiment stamps. I love how it turned out!

"Sweet Sleep"

I found this sketch by Liz Qualman on the Pebbles blog:

Photobucket

I liked how most of the elements were placed together on one side. I knew I had the perfect pics of Camden on the swing with which to create the layout. So I hopped to it, using "Fly a Kite" papers from October Afternoon.

So Many Berries........

Photobucket

Fresh berries were so inexspensive today, so I bought a ton and made 18 jars of this:

Photobucket

Looks yummy, doesn't it??

I made 6 jars of Strawberry Rhubarb jam and 12 bottles (yep, 12!) of Blackberry Thimbleberry jam. I have to admit, one jar didn't make it past lunchtime!!

And oh! My poor kitchen:

But worth it. SO worth it!!

Sketchy Thursdays -- "Try & Explore"

Here is this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch:

And here is how I worked it out:

Photobucket

I replaced one photo with three and created my layout in 8x8 format to go with an album all about visiting my sister in Ottawa.

Cute

Who doesn't think a sleeping baby is the cutest thing in the world?? I love their pursed lips, their smooth skin, and the silence!! Hee, hee. One place my 3 kids are guaranteed to sleep is in the car. I had taken 2 really cute pics of my little ones catching some shut-eye in our Mazda recently, so I knew I had to create a layout.

"Weddings" and The Inspired Scrapper

This week`s challenge at The Inspired Scrapper was to create a wedding themed paper craft. I hadn`t done anything with any of our wedding photos in awhile so I pulled out a pic from that day. Here is the journaling:

And here is the complete layout:

My friend Cheri shot this picture as we were exiting the church after completing our vows. It has always been one of my favourite pictures from our big day.

Altered Embellishments

Another week, another challenge at "Little Red Wagon." This time I created a double page layout featuring pictures of my youngest son. The challenge this week was to use a plain old embellishment and change it to make it more exciting or use an embellishment in a new way.

On my Layout I used a strip of Doodlebug's Fancy Frills in red to create tiny blossoms on my tree. I cut them apart and "stickled" them in the middle:

Here is the complete layout:

I used a ton of pics of Cam doing things he shouldn't. He can be a very naughty boy, he keeps my husband and I in stitches!! Here is a closeup on the journalling:

BoBunny Sketch ~ "Drive"

I'm right in the middle of 40 report cards. Gosh- I really don't like them. They take all my precious scrapbooking time!!

I did manage to find some time to work with this sketch from BoBunny:

What do you think??

"This House Just Keeps Getting NOISIER!" - A Layout

Photobucket

I don't own too many Bella Blvd products but I had bought a bunch of their "Honey, I'm Home" papers in order to create a mini-book about our last home. With the leftovers I created this layout about our really noisy home now that Camden is joining into all of the conversations.

Photobucket

I tried to list as many of his "new words" as I could. Since I made this layout late last week, he has added "Duck," and "Hoo-hoo" whenever he sees a picture of an owl!

Sketchy Thursdays - "Walk"

Photobucket

This is Sketchy Thursdays sketch of the week. After being chosen as one of their "faves" last week, I just had to play along again.

Photobucket

My layout is an 8x8 layout using pictures I took on my recent trip to Ottawa to visit my sister. We visited Beechwood Cemetery which was right next door to my sister's condo. The tulips were in full bloom and the lilacs were heavenly.

I had to modify the sketch a bit to fit my 3 photos onto my 8x8 background but I still managed to fit in an outer border and a corner title.
